080104 - Visual Basic Programmer/ Technical Analyst

We develop and sell reservoir simulation modeling software to the oil and gas companies.  The software runs on Microsoft Windows and has a number of Visual Basic programs that act as interfaces to the user. These programs provide a GUI for user input, data error checking and simple mathematical transforms. These programs are also used for displaying results of the modeling as color images, tables and graphs.

We are looking for an individual to modify/create these VB programs that are interfaces to data input and results analysis. 

In addition, the individual is required to:

• Provide Help support to external users ... in English

• Build on-line help and documentation ... in English

• Build distribution packages

• Resolve installation problems.

To be effective in the position described, the individual should have:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (Win NT/98/2000 etc.)

• Proficient in VB programming techniques (including Win-API)

• Knowledge of oil and gas terminology

• A mathematical/engineering background

• Experience relevant to the above will be useful

• Good customer care philosophy
