PSC personnel have had a wide range of experience in providing technology transfer to client employees, including many foreign nationals. The technology transferred has covered every aspect of the petroleum industry from well site (planning and operational, geology and engineering), production and plant facilities and field offices through to head office and the Corporate board room.
The training has been designed on an individual project basis to suit the needs of our clients. Often this involves a mixture of classroom instruction on the theory of the specific technology with the practical application on the client's projects. This latter aspect can be imparted via an initial period of having the client's staff observe the technology being applied by the PSC professional, followed by a transitional period where the role becomes less of a student-teacher relationship and more of a mentor situation. This can be maintained for as long as is needed for the client to feel secure in independently performing the specific job function at which time the PSC professional is phased out of the operation.
On-the-job training works effectively to have specific individuals on the client's staff get up to speed in a given technology. For wider reaching exposure, PSC professionals can provide training to one or more select individuals who will then be responsible for delivering that knowledge to a wider range of the client's employees.
This type of training covers a specific technology as well as the instructional, planning and logistical requirements to impart that knowledge.
