Reservoir Engineering services are generally
applied in concert with professionals in various other disciplines - either
client personnel or PSC specialists - as determined by the requirements of
each assignment. The basic philosophy implemented is to match a solution
technique with the specific problem to be addressed such that an appropriate,
practical solution is achieved in a cost effective manner. The following
paragraphs detail some of the areas where PSC can be of assistance.

Application
of Analytical Techniques
PSC can develop an independent analytical
analysis of raw data. If specific data is unavailable, we can gather and
synthesize regional data or develop and/or apply correlations to acquire
appropriate data sets. The application of analytical techniques can assist
clients in assessing their current and/or potential hydrocarbon reserve base
and production projections. Reasons for these analyses are varied and include
a general desire to make informed decisions, develop a testing program,
acquisitions, divestitures, banking and securities requirements etc. Depending
on the client's needs, this data can be from a single well, all the wells in a
given field or the client's entire inventory. The specifics of the analyses
will depend on the ultimate objectives, the complexity of the problem and the
data available. PSC provides the benefit of being able to apply these
techniques within the context of, and/or leading to, an overall understanding
of pool performance. This incorporates the knowledge of various disciplines (eg.
geophysics, petrophysics, geology, production engineering, reservoir
engineering etc.) to arrive at consistent, practical solutions.
The types of problems handled with analytical
techniques can include pressure transient analyses (DST, build-ups etc.),
production rate declines, material balance calculations, volumetrics, voidage/replacement
determination, displacement considerations (waterfloods etc.), EOR screening
(tertiary oil recovery estimation, rate forecasts based on expected ultimate
recovery or available laboratory evaluation of the EOR process ), PVT
characterization (retrograde behavior - liquids recovery, miscibility
conditions etc.), water or gas coning estimations, horizontal well transient
productivity estimation etc. Most of these techniques can be applied to either
oil or gas properties and can include economic projections.
Analytical analyses may provide sufficient
information on project profitability to stand on their own or may result in
recommendations for additional data gathering and/or laboratory testing. If
the detail required and/or the complexity of the problem preclude the
application of analytical techniques PSC can provide numerical analyses (i.e.
using a simulator).

Unitization
PSC can represent clients on Unit Management
and/or on Unit Technical Committees. This can start in the pre-unit stage
where we can assist and/or conduct negotiations on behalf of our clients, or,
can be after the unit has been formed, on an ongoing basis, or at specific
points in time when significant activities are being addressed.

Regulatory
Agency Submissions
Many projects (eg. Drilling Spacing Units
adjustments, Good Production Practice, Gas/oil ratio Penalty Relief, Secondary
Recovery etc.) require submissions to Government agencies. PSC can consolidate
all the necessary information and prepare the required documents to satisfy
these requirements. Technical representation will be provided on an on-going
basis on behalf of our client to ensure the approval of an application.

Data
Collection Scheduling
Early in the life of a field there is often
insufficient data to perform detailed analysis. PSC can assist clients in
preparing a cost effective data acquisition action plan. This ensures that the
proper quantity and quality of data is gathered at critical stages of a
field's life to provide the basis for subsequent monitoring of reservoir
performance and sound Reservoir Management.

Auditing
Technical Reports
PSC has reviewed documents prepared by other
organizations reporting on the reserves, production rate projections etc. of
oil and gas fields. This process involves accepting the information as
reported and only provides a review of the processes involved in the analysis.
While some calculations may be confirmed, this type of audit relies primarily
on a subjective evaluation of the analysis techniques applied and is generally
not a re-analysis of the data. This type of review will highlight any possible
technical deficiencies and potential biases inherent in the supplied document.
Reports reviewed by PSC for various clients have covered the spectrum of
reservoir engineering from corporate reserves evaluations for acquisition and
divestiture purposes through single well transient analyses and fluid
properties analyses to comprehensive reviews of the results of full field
simulation studies.

Expert
Witness
PSC can provide Expert Witness testimony before
legal bodies. This can be general in nature or involve prepared testimony
based on specific issues and/or reservoir assessment. PSC is very cognizant of
the special needs of litigation and can provide the technical back-up for your
legal team.

Overall
Reservoir Management
PSC can effectively coordinate an overall
reservoir management team to assure maximum recovery and profits are realized
from a client's reserve base. This can commence upon discovery and continue
through to the end of the life of the asset.
